Sucking palm
Hello Dr. My baby who is currently 5 months old keeps putting his palm or fingers in his mouth. He also tries to suck his pillow cover, blanket etc. He pees around 8 to 10 times a day and is on breast feeding the entire day except for a bottle of formula given at night. I wish to know is putting hands inside mouth a sign of hunger or is it done for some other reason.

Mouthing is completely normal at this age. zit is a sensory play and child is exploring so let it happen. Just ensure surfaces, hands and feet are clean. Also keep small objects high up or away from the child's reach. Mouthing also promotes self feeding at a later age. For any queries, kindly book an online consultation with me.
