Substituting mothers milk to lactogen 1

Asked for Male, 27 Years

Doc. My breast milk outflow fluctuates.The nipple is inverted and out flow is very less. My baby is 5 days old and she cried for almost 2 hours due to hunger and I opted for lactogen which actually was discouraged by health workers. I hope it's safe for my baby to feed her with lactogen. I'm spoon feeding my baby.

The best stimulus for increasing lactation are feeding at regular intervals,a good diet by you and a relaxed state of mind. If you feel your lactation is less,what you need to do is give your feeds at 2 hour gaps followed IMMEDIATELY by top feed,if your milk is less,she'll take good amount of top feed. All formulae are more or less the same. Maintain hygiene strictly. As far as possible,avoid top feeds. Good luck.
