Stretchmarks in pregnancy-burning sensat
Hi I am 31+2 weeks pregnant and have started getting stretchmarks on my lower belly area. They are extremely burning and painful. I cannot sustain hot temperature or a touch of cloth on it. I am applying bio-oil but doesn't seem to help stop the burning sensation. Can you please recommend some ointment that can help me reduce the pain and burning in that area ?

Hi! Striae gravidarum, stretch marks in pregnancy, occur in about 90% of all pregnant women. They are primarily due to the rapid rate at which the skin is being stretched, combined with the influence of hormones. The itchiness is likely due to newly developed stretch marks during pregnancy and other weight fluctuations. Cocoa butter, Shea butter based cream will help moisturize and calm the skin to certain extent. If this doesn’t help and the itching is severe consult a dermatologist.
Next Steps
Consult a dermatologist
Health Tips
To manage itchy skin, avoid hot showers and baths. After bathing, pat excess water off your skin and apply thick bland moisturizer. Plenty of oral fluids to keep your skin hydrated.
