Storing milk
Hi Doctor, Need your advise on the lactation part, My son is not able to latch to feed him. Currently we are using electric pump and store in thr bottle and feed him. So my question is like for how many hours we can store the milk. Also can we store it in fridge, if yes how long it is ok to store. Please advise. Regards,

You can store in fridge for 4 to 6 yrs. Heat it before feeding your baby.

If storing at room temperature then 8 hours, in the fridge for 24 hours

Hi.. You can store expressed breast milk at room temperature for 2 3 hours in summers and 6 in winters. In fridge, it will be ok for 12 hours, best is to express for atleast 6 - 8 times in a day and keep storing milk in bottles or sterilised containers with labels of date and time. The milk expressed first must be used first and vice Versa. Milk thawed once must not be refrigerated again.

You can pump and store your milk in an air tight container after from sunlight for about 4-6 hours in room temperature. In fridge for 24 hours and in freezer, even more.

In room temperature away from sunlight then u can use upto 4 hour In fridge 40.f u can use upto 4 days In freezer upto 12 month
