Statins and Covishield
Hi everyone, I'm 28, female on medication for high cholesterol (Rosuvastatin 5mg) Should I continue to take the tablet while getting vaccinated. The vaccination drive have started in my institute and I'm a little worried about taking the vaccine because of my underlying health issue. Please help me out.

While there is no risk in taking vaccination for COVID-19, I am intrigued by the dosage of 5 mg of Rosuvastatin. Such doses have no major advantage in clinical practice, unless there was an unique clinical issue. Do consider revisiting the decision and have a review done. If you have some additional issues which have not been revealed, it’s a different.

Yes you can take the vaccine. You need not discontinue the statin. Just take adequate rest and plenty of water on the day of vaccination.
