Statin use
I was adviced to stop rosuvastatin usage for 2 months after my recent lipid profile was normal (on taking it every day for 2 months and alternate day for 2 months, then took lipid profile). Is it safe? Why is it adviced to stop? I have no history of cardiac events, but family history of high cholesterol. I weigh 70kgs and am 5'1" in height. Will stopping it not increase my risk for cardiac issues?

Hello, Statins are needed to control cholesterol as well as prevention of cardiovascular diseases considering the ASCVD risk. If you have moderate to high risk then you should not stop taking statins in spite of normal cholesterol. I need to see your cholesterol reports before and after statin medicines and need other information for risk assessment and further advice
