Squeezing & Tightness in Right Chest
My father aged 64 (weight 85, height 5-9") is occassionally feeling squeezing, tightness and tingling in the right chest with no pain. He has these symptoms from last 15 days and we consulted a general physician and already had 3 follow up visits but there is no improvement. My father has high BP and takes Amlopin AT from over 10 years now. But he missed out the medicines for over a month before facing this issue. From last 15 days his BP is continuously over 170/90. Initially the pulse was about 50. On this doctor has changed his routine medicine from Amlopin At to Amlopin, now his pulse is normal (around 60+) but BP is still an issue. Doctor advised that this problem will take 6 months to cure and there is nothing that can be done and no need to worry, also there is no test required. But 6 months seems to be a very long time. I am actually concerned if this may relate to heart disease and not sure if I should visit a cardiologist. Please guide.

Yes you should take a cardiac opinion considering your father's age, history of poorly controlled BP and complaints of chest pain.

Hello, Yes this can be heart related. Do not need to wait for 6 months. He needs revision of his BP medicines it will get under control definitely after changes of medicines. Also get his ECG . Echo and if possible TMT done and report. Consult online directly for further evaluation and management Take care
