Sore nose piercing
It’s been almost a week since I pierced my nose myself, and I haven’t had any discharge whatsoever. So I was wondering if that was a problem in itself. But my main question is that is it normal for the outside of the piercing to be completely fine but have the inside feel sore and tender when I clean it? I have no bumps and no seeming signs of infection, it’s just sore and tender on the inside whenever I touch it. Is that normal?

Hi there. This is Dr Satya Kiran, ENT Surgeon from Hyderabad. Nose piercing in unsterile conditions is not recommended. Reason: The lower part of nose ( DANGEROUS AREA OF FACE) is connected via veins to brain, so infection might spread retrograde. Consult ENT specialist for inspection of nose n u might require antibiotic for 5 or 7 days
