Son's separation anxiety disorder.
My son is 2.5 years old and started going to school 3 weeks back. He cries all the time as he has been totally dependent on me and wife till now. This has started affecting his health and mood. What as parents can we do differently to make him comfortable with the idea of school?

It is important that he is able to stay without his parents presence in an age appropriate way. Usually pre schools wean off the children from their parents by calling the parents in the school over a pd of time and gradually reducing it till the child settled down. You should do the same at home.. Let him engage in solo and group activities for a stipulated time (where your involvement is lesser) . When the time is up, reach out to him and give him time and your attention. He will gradually be able to realise that separation is temporary and parents will come at the end of the day.
Next Steps
Please see a counselling psychologist.
Health Tips
What's the reason for him to depend on you solely? Was there any reason like health, no other children to play etc? Try to increase his scope of interaction with others.
