Hello Doctors
My mom blood presuure remain 150/80 and 170/100 nowdays.
She is also having loose motion since last 3 times in 2 months...also weight is drop from 62 to 59kg...currently she is taking norflox tz for 5 days twice a day...and motion in control...her h1bac is 6.1
What should we do...kindly suggest what loose motion symtoms...along with loose motion she had little stomach pain too...but is blood pressure related to this?
1. High Blood Pressure: >140/90
Evaluation for secondary causes, especially in the presence of unexplained weight loss.
Consult a physician for a detailed workup, including kidney function tests, electrolytes, thyroid profile, and an ECG.
2. Loose Motions and Stomach Pain:
These could indicate an infection, irritable bowel syndrome, or another gastrointestinal issue.
If symptoms persist despite Norflox TZ, a stool test and an abdominal ultrasound are advised to rule out infections or other causes like colitis or ulcers.
3. Weight Loss:
A loss of 3 kg in a short time with other symptoms (loose motions, stomach pain) warrants investigation.
Discuss dietary intake, any changes in appetite, and consider tests like a complete blood count, CRP, liver function tests, and a screening for malignancies if no obvious cause is identified.
4. H1bAc:
At 6.1, blood sugar levels are borderline. Lifestyle modifications like a balanced diet, exercise, and regular glucose monitoring are necessary.
5. Connection Between Blood Pressure and GI Symptoms:
High BP is not directly related to loose motions but can worsen due to dehydration from fluid loss.
Ensure adequate hydration and monitor symptoms closely.
