Any symptomatic brain tumor (Tumor that causes some or the other symptoms) requires treatment. One of the aspects of the treatment is to find out the type of tumor, whether it is a tumor or something else. If tumor is small and not causing symptoms, a regular MRI (every 6 months or one year) is fine too see if it growing in size. If it is growing, then it needs treatment. Treatment is usually surgery, because Surgery provides an opportunity to remove the tumor as much as possible and more importantly the tumor can be tested in the laboratory(Histopathology) to find out its exact nature. This histopathology report guides us in further treatment of the tumor to prevent regrowth and recurrence. Other option without surgery include Radiation treatment.
