Sir/Mam From last few days I am feeling too much sleepy in day time. I sleep around 6-7 hours daily in night . Though I feel too much sleepy in day time .In 14-15 days my entrance exam will be conducted for which I have been preparing from last year . In day time I am not able to study properly  due to which i feels a depressed also. Whether I study or do anything I feel sleepy . What I should do now.? Should I sleep more in night time ? What should I do to avoid sleep in day time while studying .? please help me .

Hello! Hypersomnia / Narcolepsy involves the following: Symptoms - excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden loss of muscle tone (cataplexy), hallucinations Physical Exam - A full exam should be done by a doctor Diagnosis - • Sleep Study (polysomnography) • Full Standard Lab Panel including complete blood count and electrolytes and thyroid studies Treatment - • Modafinil 200 to 200mg PO Q am • Various stimulants, or Na oxybate for excessive daytime sleepiness • Treatment of underlying cause Thank you Asad Raza, MD arMD.in Medical Centres
