Sleep Apnea Symptoms
My husband's weight is 108 kg and unable to reduce weight after continuous efforts. He snores very loudly and have all sleep apnea symptoms. He stops breeding during snoring and feels tired and sleepy all day. Need some advice if the sleep apne can be controlled without a PAP device. Any short time alternative solution to PAP which can reduce sleep apne to help weight loss.

Hello. BiPAP is the most effective way for reducing sleep apnoea and it's advisable until he loses significant weight and the condition improves in its own. See the problem with sleep apnoea is not just the snoring, in the short term it causes constant tiredness fatigue and mood changes to say the least.  In the long term it is known to cause heart related problems and brain damage (every time  there is an apnoea episode the blood supply to Brian is hampered causing micro damages). My advise would be to continue PAP until he loses weight. As for weight reduction, a consistent dietary regimen + exercise with a trainer + medications this combination would be most beneficial. Losing such a high weight is not an easy task and less likely to be achieved with home based diet plans and self motivational exercises. Kindly seek a proper trainer. Certain medications also help for weight loss though they can be given for a few months only. Good luck.
