Skin darkening can be treated in a variety of ways as my esteemed colleague has mentioned in the previous post. If you prefer, Aggressive treatment which can offer faster results consists of chemical peeling is another good option. Feel free to consult for further information. Hello, Dark knees can be treated with skin lightening creams or topical retinoids. Avoid self treatment with over the counter creams as they may contain steroids and you may end up with permanent side effects. Skin polishing and peels are also advised depending on the pigmentation which are done every 2-4 weeks apart for 6 to 8 sessions. Use moisturiser daily twice a day to keep the skin supple and use a good sunblock of spf 30 or more if the skin is going to be exposed in sunlight to prevent further darkening. Please visit a qualified dermatologist for further treatment. Hope this helps. Warm regards, Dr Pinanky Jadhav, Eternis Clinic, Pune.
