In a young person like you, it might be because of cervical muscles spasm (most common). However other reasons like cervical spondylitis, systemic disease etc should be ruled out.

It seems like cervical spondylitis...could be from over stretching of neck or lifting weights over head..longs hours of reading.or very rarely hypertension which may not be cause as you are young
