Sigmoid Volvulus
My aunt has not excreted properly for the past two weeks. Drinking only fluids and very little food. Doctor had advised for a pelvis scan the impressions of which are "Large air filled overly distended sigmoid colon loops with mesentery maximum distension of
diameter ~ 8.9 cm, which lack haustrations noted with twisted seen, with
closed loop extending towards right upper quadrants. Descending colon appears
dilated with collapse of rest of large bowel
- Features likely Sigmoid volvulus" Is this an emergency case or life critical situation? Kindly advise..
