I feel this could be an injury due to excessive swimming in the wrong manner, its a severe pain on the left shoulder next to the neck and next to the shoulder blades.

Hello there Most of the cases which i see having similar symptoms turn out to be unilateral trapezius muscle spasm...which occours due to improper movement or placing undue stress on trap muscle. Its a minor worry...usually gets well with local application of dicofinac gel and proper stretching...if not then with certain electro physio modalities and prescription muscle relaxants.
