If the headache has been persistent, it would be advised to run a couple of tests & scans based on the recommendation of a medical doctor to rule out various possibilities.

Headache can be due to many causes. The diagnosis also depends on the nature of pain.
Please describe in details where on the head is the pain, since when, what is the frequency of these headaches. And the sort of pain (like a hammer beating from inside or rubber band pressed around a part?) is there any nausea or vomiting with it?
There are many other factors to consider too - blood pressure. Sleep. Family history. Cold n cough. etc.
