Severe acidity problems
Hi Doctor, I have been facing acidity problems from past six months. I generally avoid hot milk products like tea, coffee which has helped a bit. I pop a PAN 40 tab and take eno in a glass of water when the acidity is severe. Sometimes, I also feel chest pain which increases when I lie down. Any medication or lifestyle change, food habit change you would like me to follow? Should I continue with PAN and eno? Do they have any side effects? Thanks in advance. Regards, Subhrajyoti

Your symptoms are suggestive of Reflux Oesophagitis / Hiatus Hernia. You need to avoid spicy and deep fried foods. Drink plenty of water and have a lot of fruits. Esomeprazole and Domperidone tablets twice a day along with Floristore would help you. Do not lie down for one and a half hours after food. Take your meals on time

You need to follow a healthy diet. Avoid spicy foods, oily foods, outside junk foods, tea, coffee, sweets, sugars as much as possible. Have 4-5 short meals per day, instead of three big meals. Also drink plenty of water in between meals and little water during meals. You can take pantoprazole 40mg once in the morning half hour before your breakfast for one week. Sometimes stress can also trigger gastritis. So try relaxation methods like yoga or meditation. Also do not starve for too long. If this doesn't give you relief then consult a general physician or surgeon for further evaluation.
