Semen culture positive
My brother had his semen culture positive for enterococcus faecalis. His urologist has asked him to take two injections daily of mikacin five hundred mg for 5 days and also tablet forcan 150 once a day. Just curious if the infection needed these many injections? And is mikacin the right antibiotic for this condition.

Hello, E. Faecalis is resistant to many commonly used antimicrobial agents.Usually in these cases antibiotics sensitivity test is done before prescribing them. He has to take those antibiotics to get rid of urinary tract infection. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore,this drug should be given at evenly spaced intervals.
