My husband's brother had sudden death from cardiomyopathy last year at the age of 43. He had no prior symptoms. Autopsy results revealed his heart at 3 times the size of a normal heart. (910 gms in weight) My husband was tested with an echo earlier this year. He is fine. My question is should we have our 3 children screened? We have a girl age 21, and two boys 19 and 17.

Though nothing to worry, but it is a good idea to get an echo done of all your children, it would put your mind at ease.
