Second opinion on diabetes diagnosis?
I went to the dr yesterday and she told me that i have diabetes. My hemoglobin number is 6.3 which is right on the cusp. is this a for sure thing now or should i get another opinion. I really dont want the disease. I am on prednisone for polymialgia 8mg and I also just got eczema so im taking a topical steroid cream for that too. she is also starting me on lisinopril

Hba1c of 6.3 suggests a prediabetic condition. Recent oral steroid use can give a temporary high sugar report ,however it depends on the dose and duration of steroids. If sugar is very high, you may require temporary medicines to reduce it if its purely due to steroids.
