Hello Doctor, my mother is suffering from some problem regrading smell. She is not able to smell any fragrance from last one week. Whenever she smell any fragrance or eat any food she feels it is acerbic. I don't know what is that problem and why it is occur. Please give me guideline regarding this. What should I do in this case.

The condition is called anosmia and it's important to find out if she is allergic to dust cause she may be having allergic polyposis which causes nasal block with loss of smell and headache ie secondary sinusitis or a sinusitis can also lead to the problem she will require to see an ENT
