Dear Doctor,
I am a 29yr old female undergoing fertility medications for conception, married for 3yrs.
LMP - August 27th.
This time I started slight bleeding on 28th Sept only for 1day. No proper menstrual flow.
I have got irregular periods right from my menarche (at 14yrs). I took Various allopathic/ayurvedic medicines before marriage to regularize my periods. After marriage started treatment with a family gynecologist, then shifted to infertility clinic. Every time I had got periods after taking Regesterone (Norethindrone)-5mg for 10days. After stopping tabs, I will get my periods on 3rd/4th day. Usually the flow will be full for 4days.
I was given Progesterone tabs from 14th-26th day.
But This cycle I am not under Estrogen/Progesterone tabs. I was prescribed low dose Thyronorm (25mg) tab for my high Antithyroid antibodies.
My doubt is whether Thyroxine tabs has effected this scanty period or because I did not take any Progesterone Tabs my bleeding did not occur?
Kindly clarify.
Thank

You have already developed a serious hormone imbalance called autoimmune thyroid disease. No wonder your periods are scanty and irregular. If untreated, it can lead to premature ovarian failure where periods can totally stop.
