From almost a year now, I have extremely flakey and itchy scalp. It reduces and increases again. With sweat it aggravates a lot. This has lead to flakes behind my ear too. What is the solution for this? Any medication is required or will it go away with time? I have tried a medicated shampoo for a while called keraglo AD, but my hair starts falling after usage hence stopped.

Itchy flaky scalp might be due to a couple of reasons like Seborrheic dermatitis or even psoriasis which needs to evaluated further by a dermatologist. Medication would definitely be required if there is active or acute episode of itching redness over scalp or near eyebrows nose or behind ears. Antifungal shampoo like keraglo ad works for maintenance if associated with seborrhoea ie. fungal component, however in other cases it might not work.
