Ruptured ear drum
Hi there I had a question regarding my ear. On Monday I was punched in the ear a few times. I went to the walk in and was told I had a hole in my ear drum and the outer part is swollen resulting in my hearing being bad in that ear. I wasn't given anything and was told it will heal on its own and that there was no infection (I have no pain just ringing). Since yesterday I feel like it has swollen shut a bit more. My question is, is there anything I can get prescribed or do myself to make the swel

Sometimes blunt trauma can also cause soft tissue swelling in the ear canal. Ruptured ear drum can make you hear less for few days to weeks. Usually it will heal spontaneously with adequate care of the ear. If you have pain then take symptomatic treatment in the form of pain killers. You should not use any drops and antibiotics are necessary in case of infection
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
