Role of colonoscopy
What is the role of colonoscopy in identifying appendicitis. Can colonoscopy detect appendicitis accurately than CT scan or ultrasound.

There is very less or even no role of colonoscopy in appendicitis . Appendicitis can be clinically Diagnosed, Usg and ct are just to confirm and rule out other pain pathology in abdomen mimicking appendicitis like right ureteric calculi

Colonoscopy is not routinely done in appendicitis. Colonoscopy is done if patient have atypical presentation and the diagnostic imaging ( USG / CT ) is inconclusive.

No Appendicitis is mostly a clinical diagnosis Colonoscopy has no role in appendicitis Ultrasound and CT are having minimal role only to exclude the other causes of abdominal pain

Appendicitis along with clinical diagnosis,  imagings like ultrasound abdomen/ CT abdomen with other blood parameters like TLC
