Repeated Dry coughs
My Dad has been repeatedly having severe dry coughs for the past 20 to 25 days. I'm very worried whether this is a symptom for Heart attack. Please give me clarity on the same as even I don't have much knowledge on the same. Thanks in Advance.

Hello.. Yes cough might be associated with heart issues when the failing heart is causing load on lungs but just dry cough as the only symptom may not indicate heart attack...it may be due to any underlying respiratory issues..be it upper respiratory or lower..for heart attack there will be symptoms like chest, hand, neck, back pain.. Breathlessness, fatigue, sweating etc...please consult a physician and get examined and evaluated with few simple tests like cbc,ecg
