Related to tb
Me and my friends visited a friend, she was diagonised with tb (she first got jaundice then typhoid malaria and then tb). She was hospitalised and she got discharge from hospital (as she was getting recovered), we met her after the discharge. Can i get infected by disease? Though she was wearing a mask all the time, she took it off just to eat something. Do i need to get any test done for assurance and when?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. People who are in contact with such patients are at a high risk of getting infected. You might as well be infected, but it's not necessary that the bacteria will bring out the disease in you. If you are a immunocompromised person like patients suffering from hiv, patients on immunosuppressive drugs, ten it might affect you. Don't need to be worried. Consult a pulmonologist in person if you still feel you might be infected. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.

Hello.... I understand your concern towards your health, I think you should know that The basic test usually done is sputum examination and sputum culture for detection of microorganisms. X- ray can support the clinical diagnosis. Most of the times this correlated with the patients medical history. There is also a DNA-PCR technique done in only few centers, which can dectect the microorganisms...... Clinical evaluation is very much important for proper diagnosis..... So kindly consult a physician for further management.....
