A pulp polyp is different from a gingival polyp..
Cause of a gingival polyp is not the tooth but the gum surrounding it and can be treated by removing the affected tissue by a process called as excision using laser or a scalpel..if there is an additional infection with the gums then further treatment will be required..
A pulp polyp is caused due to a chronic inflammation of the pulp for a long time period which is seen as protruding of the pinkish or red pulp tissue from the cavity of the affected..
The treatment for this is excision of the pulp tissue using laser or scalpel followed by root canal treatment of the tooth followed by a crown..
