Regarding Norethisterone tablet

Asked for Female, 32 Years

I have taken Norethisterone tablets 5 mg for 8 days for a family function, 1per day a week before and today i came to knw i am pregnant 7 weeks.. Does the tablet cause any harm to baby?

It will not cause any harm to the baby. You have taken the tablets and completed the course much before the embryo could make a contact with maternal circulation. Even otherwise the concept of some progestogens harming a female foetus is outdated and it is not accepted any more.
