Regarding lymphocytes
My mom had high bp and sugar. One month back her left eye was affected. Her left eye was unable to open and her left eye ball was not moving. So she went to check up and found sugar and bp is very high. Now she is taking medicine and sugar got controlled. Doctor told to take blood test. Her lymphocytes range is 55.7 and platelet is 4.20 .. does she have any problem. Do we need to meet cancer doctor???

Hello. The attached CBC report is suggestive of a mild infection or inflammatory condition. WBC count is normal so its nothing to get worried about. A little higher lymphocyte percentage does not indicate cancer. An underlying infection may result in both a high lymphocyte count and high ESR. If she has no other symptoms of infection like fever and no other chronic inflammatory conditions like arthritis, the counts and ESR should normalize soon. If she has fever or any other symptoms, I would suggest consulting your physician for further evaluation. Thanks
