your doctor want to confirm the noramacy of reproductive system -uterus and fallopian tubes -of your wife in hsg a special liquid medicine call dye is injected in uterus by special instrument and whole uterus and tubes are visualised in x-ray and documented.in some patient , medicine is used(dye) may cause some reaction due to hypersensitivity of human body to that perticular drug.you may have some discomfort during procedure, but HSG is only test in which pt.dosenot have to admitted in hospital ,it takes only few minute to check uterus and fallopian tubes and it is less costly than latest test call laparoscopy.

Hello there we understand your concern and enthusiasm. But then you see this test is done for checking of the patency of the tube that whichnis attached to the uterus. These tubes help in carrying of ovum to uterus. If that is blocked in your wife's case then she not have a chance of getting pregnant. And your doctor is doing the same. And more over it is dine under universal standard of sterility. So there is no need of you to worry about and just trust your doctor. Thank you
