Regarding general newborn care
My baby is 8 days old, can you please help me with the following? 1. When can I start bathing my newborn? Currently sponging her once a day. 2. When can I start applying baby lotion and baby powder on her (after patch testing)? I will use Sebamed for lotion and Chicco for powder.

You can give the baby a bath with Luke warm water.ensure that head is washes backwards to avoid water on nose. keep fans or windows closed to avoid air flow so that baby doesn't get hypothermic. Also use a hypoallergenic soap/ lotion from any good company. Sebamed that you are using is also good. Avoid using powder as it might clog sweat glands. You may consider choosing to bath on alternate days.
Next Steps
also ensure that you change nappies frequently .

You can start bathing. Normally after umbilical cord is dropped off, we suggest bathing. Donot use powder toomuch on face, baby may inhale powder which will deposit in lungs and may cause issues. You can use after 2 weeks. Moisturizer immediately bath will be good time to use
