The commonest cause of vomiting at this age is regurgitation due to overfeeding. Ensure a gap of atleast 2 to 2-1/2 hours between feeds, give nothing else by mouth, feed for 5 mins each breast, burp him for atleast 10 mins after every feed, then lay him on his RIGHT side for half an hour after burping. Keep him elevated by placing a cushion beneath the head and shoulders,24 hours a day. If not improving even after trying the above STRICTLY,only THEN meds are indicated, but it's rarely the case. As for surgery, definitely NOT to be considered at this stage, unless the baby has serious surgical condition like eventration of diaphragm or stomach herniation or hypertrophic pyloric stenosis.
