  3. Red puss from stitches. Why can be done?

Red puss from stitches
It is like 15 days now .. my ankle stitches are now removed and I see some red stitcky puss coming out even yet. Is that healing or infecting ? Why can be done ?

Hi, if wound is healed there will be dry scab. If any pus is coming out it indicates infection. Go for pus culture and sensitivity. Continue taking oral antibiotics, alternate day dressing. Keep the wound clean and dry. Don't put water on it, if it occurs wipe it with clean cloth. Consult general surgeon for furthur care.
