Red bump on back of throat
Good morning doctor, I have dry mouth problem for last couple of days because of stress and dehydration. Today I feel one red bump on the back of tongue when I cleaning tongue by finger. It feels on the right side and there is no bump in left side. When i pull my tongue I saw a red bump on back of throat. Not feel any irritation. I am so much worried. It is cancer or normal. I go to ENT surgeon it said it is lingual tonsil and suggest some medicine. Please tell lingual tonsil is normal or serious condition. Please help I am not sleep for 2 days. I am so much worried. Should I go for other doctors???

Lingual tonsil is present I all. Nothing abnormal. Red bumps behind your tongue could be the circumvellate papillae which are also normal structures. There is nothing to worry about. Do not use tongue cleaner very often and avoid stress. Drink frequent sips of water during the day to avoid dehydration. Avoid smoking/betel nut/tobacco chewing.
