It could be a fungal infection, eczema, or contact dermatitis. Since coconut oil and diaper rash cream haven’t helped, a mild antifungal or hydrocortisone cream may be needed. Keep the area dry and avoid tight diapers. Use fragrance-free moisturizers and change diapers frequently. Consult a pediatrician online for proper diagnosis and treatment. If the rash persists or worsens, a prescription cream may be required. ✅ Like this message if you found it useful!

Dear Concerned Parent, Thank you for sharing about your child's skin concern. The scaly, white flaky patch above the buttocks that isn't responding to regular diaper rash creams could indicate several possible conditions that require proper evaluation. Possible Causes: 1. Fungal Infection (Candidiasis):Common in diaper areas due to moisture 2. Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis): Dry, scaly patches that may appear in this area 3. Psoriasis:Less common in children but possible 4. Contact Dermatitis:Reaction to diaper material or other irritants 5. Bacterial Infection: If there's any redness, warmth or oozing Recommended Next Steps: 1. Gentle Care:    - Keep the area clean and dry    - Use fragrance-free, hypoallergenic baby wipes    - Allow diaper-free time when possible    - Continue using a barrier cream (zinc oxide based) 2. Medical Evaluation Needed:    - The persistent nature despite home care suggests professional assessment    - A pediatric dermatology exam would help identify the exact cause    - Possible prescription treatments may include:      * Antifungal creams (if fungal)      * Mild steroid creams (for eczema)      * Special moisturizers 3. **When to Seek Immediate Care:**    - If the rash spreads    - If blisters or open sores develop    - If your child seems uncomfortable or feverish Consultation Recommendation: I strongly advise scheduling an appointment for proper diagnosis and treatment.
