Rash around neck area

I have this nasty rash around the neck (check photo). What could be the reason? It itches and pains sometimes.

Hi. Greetings. How long had the rash been. Is there any pain associated ? I guess you must first see a qualified dermatologist near you to rule out herpes zoster.
