Good topic for Research. So far I couldn't come across anything from birds as far as the spread of Rabies is concerned.  However it is food for thought. Now that the thought has come to your mind, take your precautions and stop Bird watching.

Rabies is commonly observed in mammals. Birds can be experimentally infected with this virus; however, naturally occurring rabies infection in birds has been reported very rarely
