I have just come off a 10 day course of Antibiotics to treat my Bacterial infection of Tonsillitis. The course ended 3 days ago and my Tonsillitis has returned. One side is hurting and is very swollen. If i have the op to get them drained, How long before I can speak properly as I'm a student actor? Will I be hospitalised for several days? .

Peritonsillar abscess needs to be drained. It's usually a day care procedure. You need to take intra venous antibiotics for few days along with parenteral analgesics. You should be fine within three days
