Diphtheria usually occurs in school age but it can affect any age group (due to widespread vaccination in children and waning of immunity it occurs more commonly in adults now a days)
Thats why instead of Tetanus toxoid vaccine / immunisation now Td vaccine is given every 10 years ( it contains tetanus and diphtheria both)
