Query regarding typhoid
I have heard that TLC increases above normal level in bacterial infections . Typhoid is also a bacterial infection, Then why do doctors say that TLC decreases below normal level in typhoid? Dr.manoj kumar gupta on practo said that TLC increases whereas google says just the opposite. See the screenshot attached . Both the statements are contradictory to each other.

Bacterias have different mechanisms to cause disease in our body. Its not easy to conclude diagnosis based only on one or two factors. It needs detail history of symptoms, physical signs and various investigations. Yes, overall, high TLC indicates bacterial infection but there are exceptions too. In case of typhoid bacteria, it engulfs some kinds of leukocytes so there is decrease in their numbers.
Health Tips
Its good to ask your doubts to doctor. but simultaneously asking google regarding it..is not a good idea. And every case is different, so statement about one case, you can not apply to other case.
