QUERY REGARDING PRESCRIPTION & MEDICINE
I am suffering from hair loss for the past 4-5 years and pigmentation. I went to a dermato trichologist and he made the diagnosis which is mentioned in the prescription and gave me few medicines. Please tell me what's the diagnosis and what are the medicines for. Has he prescribed the right medicines? 1) Dutasteride 0.5 mg Tab : 01 Tab OD 2) Shaltop-A Lotion : 1ml BDS 3) Tacrolimus Lotion : 10 Drops BDS 4) Glamus Cream on Face : BDS Shaltop contains Minoxidil+ Tretinoin + Azelaic Acid I have read that Dutasteride is used for the treatment of prostate enlargement. It can cause impotency too.

Not like that..it can be used for hair fall.. however treatment depends on the grade..You are suffering from hormonal changes causing Androgenetic alopecia causing hair fall. It's completely stoppable even regrowth of hair is possible with certain medications without any side effects. Treatment depends on the grade of hair loss. So, it's a must for diagnosing which grade, you are in for an effective treatment. Please  send photos of your head, by direct online consultation for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

You have Androgenetic alpecia ( AGA) Dutastetide acts blocking the conversion of testosterone to Dehydrotestosterone which is the main reason for thinning ...the same drug is used for prostate enlargement too but with higher dose and as per literature and in some patient it can cause erectile dysfunction but it's wash out period is 30 days so it's reversible and frankly we still dont have good alternatives . No doctor will be desperate to start you on these it's just best suggestions given.
