QUERY REGARDING NEEDLE STICK INJURY
I was injecting my father with an injection prescribed by the doctor. Since, in the lockdown days we don't get compounders to apply an injection I had to volunteer myself. After I injected him the needle struck my finger and the blood came out. I washed the injury with soap and water and cleaned it but now I am worried about HIV transmission as I don't know my father's HIV status. He had tested for Anti HCV and HBsAg in 2018 which came out to be negative but I don't know about his HIV status. What should I do ? Should I go for his HIV testing ?

yes you should go forward with his hiv testing asap. If it comes out positive, you need to start post exposure prophylaxis for hiv.
