Duration for Cultures of stool and urine depends variable based on the type of organism being cultured for your symptoms and can range somewhere between 48hrs to 2 weeks. Usually the culture samples are examined after 48hrs for presence of any growth. If present, which organism is determined and if not culture inspected again after 72hrs. More commonly culture growth gets detected within this duration and if not further evaluation is done based on the patient’s condition improvement.
