Problematic acne
I was on Doxycycline for around 12 months for my problematic acne and it worked very well. Over the last 3 months i stopped taking it and my acne has come back m,uch worse and is making me feel pain, uncomfortable, and a low level of self confidence. Should i start taking an antibiotic for my skin again? I'm 20 years old and my hormones are changing also.

The severity of acne dictates the choice of treatment. In the early grades of acne even the cream might suffice however in moderate to higher grades tablets also need to be taken. The treatment has to be continued for a few months otherwise the pimples would tend to return easily. Kindly do not self medicate without professional advice as that could further damage your skin. You should send me images through private online consult for a better assessment of the problem and approaching it accordingly. Hope this is helpful.
