Postmaxillofacial surgery
My bro faced an accident on 8th of April, 2016 and underwent a maxillofacial surgery as his jaws were dislocated. His jaws were tied for a month and he was hence on a liquid diet. But even after 6 weeks, his teeth is yet not aligned and therefore he is not able to chew the solid food. The doctor has advised GOD SENT tablets and says that thrle tooth alignment will take time. Kindly suggest how long this would continue.

hello, now a days intermaxillary fixation ( wiring) is not required. instead we do plating, so patient can resume to normal diet within few weeks. but if wire fixation is done then primary aim is only bony healing and union. in the later stage of treatment teeth alignment is done, usually after 1-2 month.
