Post DVT foot nerve damage
Hello, In 2015, my father had an episode of DVT. Blood clot in his right thigh resulted into darkening of the right leg from thigh to feet and he was taken into emergency where doctors stablized him with anticoagulants over night. Results were right foot drop and weakness in nerves at the same area. He couldn't lift his foot and wore support for two years. Now in 2018, its much better and he doesnt need to wear any support and can walk and ride two wheeler. But still the veins and nerves are week and he feels tingling on foot and cant move the toes. He is still taking Pradaxa since this episode in 2015. Any treatment suggested for him to recover fully and stop taking the meds?

Its a risk to take him off the medication as this condition can recur easily and with a few more complications.... Nerve and muscle coordination along with adequate power can be achieved with regular physiotherapy... But complete recovery like before is rarely possible... recovery can occur upto functional coping up...
