Post Chikungunia pain
Last month my mom survived from Chikungunia, and she's well now but her knees and joints pains everytime, she's only taking Paracetamol 1000 for relief, though it is temporary but she's looking for permanent relief. She's also a Arthritis patient, but she's saying that post Chikungunia the pains in the knees and joints got more severe. Please help with suggestions or recommend a good doctor.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Its called post viral fever arthralgia.  It is self reducing condition. It usually lasts for some months and goes away on itself. Many people suggest steroids for this but its however not recommended. You can take a pain killer once a day and take rest. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.

dear friend post viral reactive arthritis is usually self healing and it can take some times more than a few months, normally we do not need to treat it aggressively and paracetamol is the safest medication that can be given, you have not shared the severity of her knees arthritis please do that and if you have any investigations X ray etc please upload it so that it can be looked at and a more appropriate suggestion can be made.
